Position Description

Any great craftsperson knows that a building is more than walls, a floor, and a roof. They know that building can be safety, shelter, warmth, and possibility. Idaho Youth Ranch is looking for a talented person to step up and join our mission to provide healing and hope to Idaho’s kids.

We need a talented person who sees that a thrift store is a gateway to healing and a therapist’s office must be a space safe enough to cradle a broken heart or a wounded spirit.

We need a leader who can look at the world and see it as it could be, then create a plan to make it so.

As the Facilities Maintenance Director, you have the opportunity to put your gifts and talents to work on a network of facilities that serve as the front doors for transformations throughout our great state.

If you are ready to take the leap and do work that changes the world, you will find a home at Idaho Youth Ranch.

How does Idaho Youth Ranch view their facilities? Idaho Youth Ranch has nearly 30 different facilities, which include program service locations, office/administration space, a warehouse, three distribution centers, and retail locations throughout the state. Our facilities are key assets that either support direct service to youth or enable our ability to fund and administer the needs of a broad organization.

Each of our facilities, whether an office, a retail store, or a program location, is the front door for youth and families who come to us for help. We know the appearance of each location has a direct impact on a family’s impression of the quality of help they can expect to receive for their kids. The quality, maintenance, and cleanliness create a public perception of what to expect from Idaho Youth Ranch.

To support the critical nature and quality of our facilities, we have committed to increasing our annual capital budget to 50% of our annual deprecation budget. This will allow us to maintain, repair, and improve our facilities.

So, who are we? Since 1953, Idaho Youth Ranch has provided healing and hope for Idaho’s kids. We use proven therapies and programs to help kids who have experienced loss or adversity transform childhood trauma into hope. We offer a statewide network of services to kids 9–24 years old and their families, including outpatient therapies, residential care, adoption services, and career readiness.

Our Mission: We unite for Idaho’s youth by offering accessible programs and services that nurture hope, healing, and resilience.

Why unite with us? Because we are better together! Our team members enjoy a workplace where relationships are the foundation.
